Kanye West embarked on a new Twitter storm on Monday night, in which he declared himself the ‘new Moses’, said he would refuse to release any new music until he was released from his contract with the record company, asked his fellow rappers to apologize to him and asked his former collaborator Jay-Z for a meeting.
However, a tweet in the midst of the storm left fans scratching their heads – the rapper urged his followers to use their stimulus checks to buy land.
Early Tuesday morning, the “Jesus Walks” star ended his Twitter rant with a series of tweets about land and real estate. He wrote: “Use government money and buy land.”
Other tweets on this topic include one that reads: “We must evolve”, “Buy property”, “Buy land” and “My children are going to own my masters”.
West appears to be referring to the government’s second stimulus check which is stuck in a stalemate in coronavirus relief negotiations.
In March, legislation approved by Congress included approving $ 1,200 in direct payments to the majority of Americans, as well as $ 600 a week for additional federal unemployment insurance for the unemployed.
West telling people to buy land and property with their $ 1,200 payments unsurprisingly led to some hilarious responses.
One response reads: “The land I buy with government $ 1,200”, along with a photo of a dollhouse.
While another person joked, “Kanye, what am I going to buy with $ 1200?” The sticks ?
Man, 43, with bipolar disorder, due to release new album Donda: with child– named after her mother – in July, but the launch never took place.
Last night’s Twitter rant saw West reveal that he would no longer be posting music “until I finish my contract with Sony and Universal… On God… in the name of Jesus… come get me”.
He went on to say that Drake and J. Cole need to apologize to him.
“I need a public apology from J Cole and Drake to start immediately… I’m Nat Turner… I’m fighting for us.” He later called himself “the new Moses”.
In a tweet he later deleted, West wrote: “I’m the 2nd richest black man in America… I need all of my people with me to be free.”
Referring to Jay-Z, he tweeted: “I’m also waiting to meet Sean Carter.” Before adding, “My bad, I meant Shawn … no disrespect for my big brother.”
West’s troubled presidential bid has now seen him miss the deadline to register in key states, in what many believe is a spoiler campaign against Democrats.
However, the rapper managed to get elected in a dozen states, including Colorado, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota and Mississippi.
This week he also tweeted that he found a “fake employee” on his payroll.
