Government owned FTI, not Ayala Land ownership

We would like to correct some inaccuracies in the article titled “Bidders Wanted for P4-B FTI Transport Hub Project” (Business, 08/01/14).

The first paragraph mentioned that “the Department of Transportation is seeking bidders for a PP4 billion central public transport hub near the Ayala Group’s Food Terminal Inc. complex in the southern Metro Manila area,” the report said. invitation to the auction yesterday “. And the fourth paragraph stated that the “FTI complex is owned by Ayala Land Inc.”

We would like to clarify that Food Terminal Inc. (FTI) remains a government owned and controlled company and has not been acquired by Ayala Land Inc. (ALI). Approximately 74 hectares of its 120 hectare property were sold to ALI in October 2012. FTI owns and continues to operate a 24 hectare special economic zone and the other properties in the complex. FTI is not part of the ALI group of companies.

We hope this clarifies the matter.
