Federal Housing Authority (FHA) management said it was preparing to recover all property and parcels of land from its illegally taken estates.
The agency made this known in a statement by FHA’s Head of Public Affairs, Mr. Kenneth Chigelu, recently in Abuja.
According to him, the authority will not be deterred from ensuring that all government assets taken illegally are recovered in all its areas, saying that the recovery of property and land had started since Senator Gbenga Ashafa became its general director.
“The FHA has begun a process of repositioning in all areas of its operations. The process has led to the elimination of fraudulent acquisition of land and property, as was the case in the past. The exercise which started in Abuja, FCT and Lagos, South West zone, where the cases are high, has spread to other zones,” he said.
Chigelu said the drill affected Miracle City Church (Ambassador Royal Ministries) as it had no valid title to the 15,000 square meters of land it claimed.
He said the church did not have an approved building plan, nor could it boast of payment receipts or actual survey plans.
“The Federal Housing Authority, as a government agency, has legitimately established land allocation procedures. The Church has no evidence of these processes. The FHA, as the responsible government agency, has a statutory responsibility to engage in development control measures in its areas. These include serving stop work orders to control contraventions and illegal developments,” Chigelu said.
He said the Church should release its valid land allotment documents, approved building plan and proof of land to allow the Authority to review its status in FHA Estate.
